Best Google Maps Scrapers for Local Business Prospecting

OwnerCluePublished Reviewed 10 min read

A listing export, a public contact route and a supported owner name are different deliverables. Choose the tool around the list your team actually needs.

Quick answer

For occasional listing exports, start with Outscraper. For configurable collection workflows, evaluate Apify. Scrap.io fits plan-dependent geographic search, while LocalProspects.ai bundles Maps and website research.

Choose OwnerClue when your local sales process needs public contact sources and supported owner/founder evidence you can inspect. It does not provide guaranteed owner emails or campaign sending.

How we compared these tools

We checked official product pages, documentation and pricing on November 1, 2026. We compared the work each product can complete, the selected plan, output, review requirements and total operating cost. The numbered order is reading order, not a measured performance ranking.

OwnerClue publishes this guide and is included below. This is a documentation-based comparison, not a hands-on accuracy, speed or conversion benchmark. Every product image is labeled by source and date. We have not inferred performance from a screenshot.

What we comparedWhy it matters
Output and sourceSeparate Maps fields, website contacts and named-person evidence.
Geographic scopeConfirm city, territory and whole-country features in the selected plan.
ReviewabilityCheck website association, source URLs, roles and missing information.
WorkflowCompare file exports, API operations and configuration effort.
Total useful costInclude extraction, enrichment, required plans and review time.

Decide what the export must contain

Start with the output you need, rather than the number of advertised fields.

  • Business data: category, location, website, business phone, rating and identifiers. Our local business data guide explains the distinction between a business listing and a contact record.
  • Contact research: whether the tool stops at Maps listings, visits linked websites or uses another contact database. These produce different information.
  • Reviewability: whether you can inspect the source of an email or named person. A general mailbox does not establish that it belongs to an owner.
  • Workflow: downloadable files, scheduled runs, API access or an AI-agent connection.
  • Billing: places, exported businesses, domains, enrichment events or subscriptions. None automatically means a verified contact.

If you are still choosing between scraping and a prepared database, first read lead scraper vs data provider. For the wider sales workflow, see our B2B lead generation tools guide.

The five Google Maps scraping options

Each product uses the same quick-fact format. Read its fit and limitation together, then compare the price and workflow below.

1. Outscraper: usage-based exports

Outscraper official export illustration with listing and enrichment fields
Vendor-supplied export illustration from Outscraper. This is an example of fields, not our completed search or an accuracy benchmark. Official source ↗
PricePay as you go: $3 / 1,000 Maps records in the medium tier
Included allowanceFirst 500 Maps businesses free; contact extraction billed separately
Best forA marketer making occasional territory exports without a monthly Maps subscription.
Free / trial limits500 Maps businesses per applicable 30-day period; enrichment has its own meter
Key featureManaged listing exports with separately selectable enrichment services.
Main limitationBase Maps charges do not include every enrichment or verification service.

Outscraper combines Google Maps extraction with separately priced services, including website contact extraction. Its Maps product supports CSV, Excel, Parquet and JSON exports, with API access for automated workflows. Official product details.

Its main purchasing advantage is flexibility. A team with irregular research projects can buy usage without committing to a recurring Maps subscription.

Pricing and limits: the first 500 Maps businesses are free within the applicable period. Usage from 501 to 100,000 businesses costs $3 per 1,000 records; usage above 100,000 costs $1 per 1,000. Emails & Contacts extraction is priced separately by domain, including a $3-per-1,000-domains medium tier. Usage tiers reset every 30 days. Official pricing.

Choose it when: you want exports on demand and are comfortable selecting the additional services your project needs.

Limitation: the Maps price is not the full cost of every contact-research workflow. Include selected enrichments and verification services in the budget. Our Outscraper pricing guide explains the purchasing distinction.

2. Apify: configurable extraction and connected workflows

PriceStarter $19/month, including $19 of spending

Best forA technical team connecting configurable collection to API calls and scheduled workflows.
Free / trial limits$5 monthly usage; base places $4 / 1,000 on Free before optional events
Key featureConfigurable inputs, structured datasets, scheduling and API execution.
Main limitationActor configuration and optional enrichment change the final job cost.

Apify's Compass Google Maps Scraper supports search and location parameters, direct place inputs, structured datasets, scheduling and API execution. Optional enrichment extends the basic business output. Official Actor documentation.

Consider it when extraction is part of a larger process: collecting locations, applying custom logic, joining sources and passing results to another system.

Apify plan Platform subscription Base scraped-place rate
Free $0; $5 monthly spending allowance $4 per 1,000
Starter $19/month; includes $19 of spending $3 per 1,000
Scale $199/month; includes $199 of spending $2 per 1,000
Business $999/month; includes $999 of spending $1.50 per 1,000

Company contact enrichment, additional place details, business-lead enrichment and email verification have separate event prices. The Actor's pricing marks platform costs as included. Official Actor pricing.

Choose it when: control over inputs, optional data and workflow connections justifies the configuration work.

Limitation: the advertised “from $1.50 per 1,000” rate belongs to Business. It is not the entry-level rate and does not include every enrichment. Our Apify alternatives guide covers other approaches when a configurable platform is more than you need.

3. Scrap.io: geographic search controls

Scrap.io official public product overview
Scrap.io's public product overview, captured October 12, 2026. The current prices below were checked separately on November 1, 2026. Official source ↗
PriceBasic $49/month; $35/month equivalent with annual billing
Included allowance10,000 monthly exports on Basic; whole-country search requires Company
Best forA prospecting team defining repeatable territories using geographic search controls.
Free / trial limitsCheck current trial terms at signup; export plans are monthly or annual subscriptions
Key featurePlan-specific city, administrative-area, radius and country searches.
Main limitationWhole-country search is $499/month on monthly billing; Basic is city-level.

Scrap.io makes geographic coverage part of its subscription tiers. Plans support different combinations of city, administrative-area, radius and country searches. File enrichment, reverse search, API and MCP access are listed across the standard plans. Official features and pricing.

Plan Monthly billing Annual equivalent per month Monthly export credits
Basic $49 $35 10,000
Professional $99 $69 20,000
Agency $199 $139 40,000
Company $499 $350 100,000

Annual equivalents require yearly billing. Basic supports city searches. Broader administrative-area searches require higher plans, and whole-country search is listed on Company. A place counts once in a 30-day period; unused monthly credits do not roll over. Official plan limits.

Choose it when: recurring exports and its geographic search options fit how you define territories.

Limitation: match the plan to the required search area before comparing prices. Basic does not include whole-country search. Export credits do not guarantee personal contact information.

4. LocalProspects.ai: bundled Maps and website research

LocalProspects.ai official public product page

PriceStarter $39/month; $29/month equivalent with annual billing
Included allowance10,000 monthly leads; full enrichment pipeline, CSV and API listed
Best forAn agency wanting Maps discovery and website research bundled together.
Free / trial limitsFirst search free, no card required; confirm the exact current allowance
Key featureOwner/decision-maker research, public emails, phone context and agent access.
Main limitationMonthly allowance is not guaranteed personal-email or current-owner coverage.

LocalProspects.ai combines Maps discovery with website research for public emails, owner or decision-maker names, phone information, social profiles and website content. It also provides REST API and MCP workflows. Official product overview.

Plan Monthly billing Annual equivalent per month Monthly lead allowance
Starter $39 $29 10,000
Agency $97 $79 50,000
Scale $297 $229 200,000

Annual equivalents require yearly billing. The plans list the full enrichment pipeline, API access and CSV exports. Monthly allowances reset without rollover. Official pricing.

Choose it when: a bundled research workflow and agent access match your working style.

Limitation to check: the allowance measures capacity, not guaranteed owner-name or personal-email coverage. Inspect sample records, missing fields and the evidence connecting a person to a business. A product feature list does not prove that every result contains that field.

5. OwnerClue: inspectable public contact evidence

OwnerClue workspace with search, research and export controls; contact rows redacted
OwnerClue workspace, captured October 7, 2026, with business and contact rows redacted. It illustrates the workflow, not coverage or accuracy. Official source ↗
PriceStarter $35/month
Included allowance10,000 monthly credits; website research included in Maps searches
Best forA local agency reviewing public contacts and supporting owner/founder evidence before export.
Free / trial limits20 one-time trial credits, valid 14 days; no card required
Key featureBusiness discovery, website research and inspectable source evidence in one workflow.
Main limitationFields can be missing. No mailbox-delivery verification or campaign sending.

OwnerClue searches local businesses by industry and location, then researches available public websites for contact details and supported owner or founder information. Review the business, check website and contact sources, exclude poor fits, then export the selected records. Missing fields remain empty.

The owner discovery guide explains supported roles and sources. If you already have websites, domain enrichment avoids repeating a Maps search.

Plan Monthly price Monthly credits
Starter $35 10,000
Agency $89 50,000
Scale $269 200,000

Search uses one credit per unique business first delivered within a search or campaign, with website enrichment included. Separate domain enrichment uses one credit per successfully completed, readable unique website. Optional current phone-line checks cost five credits per successfully completed number.

Paid credits expire monthly without rollover. Monthly subscriptions are currently offered; the trial provides 20 credits for 14 days without a card. See current plans and billing rules.

Choose it when: you sell to local businesses and want to inspect public contact evidence before using a list.

Limitations: a search record can consume a credit without containing an email. Public emails are not verified for deliverability. A supported founder name does not necessarily prove current ownership. OwnerClue does not run outreach campaigns. Read the data-source definitions before interpreting contact labels.

Try an industry-and-city search →20 trial credits · 14 days · no card required. Inspect public contacts and source evidence; missing fields stay empty.

Side-by-side comparison

Prices, free access and limits

USD prices distinguish monthly billing, annual equivalents and usage charges. Annual equivalents require an annual commitment. Check capacity in the unit the vendor bills.

Consider a hypothetical task with 10,000 Maps businesses and website contact research. These are billing illustrations, not measured outputs.

Tool Illustrative purchasing implication
Outscraper 10,000 Maps records cost $28.50 with the published 500-record free allowance. A separate 10,000 billable-domain contact extraction adds $28.50: $57 total.
Apify Starter 10,000 base places cost $30 in usage; 10,000 company-contact-enrichment events add $20. Approximately $50 in usage before other selected events. The $19 plan includes spending credit, rather than adding another $19 to the same usage.
Scrap.io Basic $49 monthly includes 10,000 export credits, subject to Basic's geographic limits.
LocalProspects.ai Starter $39 monthly lists 10,000 leads with bundled enrichment.
OwnerClue Starter $35 monthly provides 10,000 credits; website enrichment inside Maps search is included. Optional phone checks use additional credits.

The first two examples assume 10,000 separately billable units for each specified service and available free allowances where stated. They exclude taxes and any additional events or services. These products do not promise equal output: record counts are not counts of emails, supported owners or suitable prospects. Unused subscription capacity also affects your actual cost.

Build and review your first list

  1. Define the territory
  2. Collect a small sample
  3. Review sources and gaps
  4. Export the accepted list
Suggested evaluation workflow, not a measured product result.

Use the same industry and location in each shortlisted tool. This is a suggested buying check, not a test we have performed.

  1. Define mandatory fields and exclusions first.
  2. Count relevant businesses, out-of-area records and duplicates.
  3. Check that each website belongs to the listed business.
  4. Inspect public contact channels and their sources.
  5. Keep supported person names, original roles and missing fields separate.
  6. Record review time, export fields and actual charges.

Use the CSV list workbench to compare exports. Preserve separate branches when they represent separate sales targets. Do not divide the bill by every exported row and call that the cost of a qualified lead.

Which should you choose?

Occasional city exports

Start with Outscraper and include any required contact extraction in the estimate.

Custom extraction and downstream processing

Evaluate the specific Apify Actor and enabled add-ons.

Check Scrap.io Company, its geographic controls and the required budget.

Bundled local research

Compare LocalProspects.ai and OwnerClue on the same sample. Inspect missing fields, source evidence and the export you will actually use.

Your current tool already works

Keep it unless a missing output, recurring manual step or measured cost justifies changing.

Frequently asked questions

Can a Google Maps scraper extract owner emails?

Some products add website research or contact enrichment. Check whether an address is a general business mailbox, a person-linked public address or a database-sourced contact. Those are different outputs, and a sourced owner name does not automatically identify that person's email.

Which option is cheapest?

For occasional small exports, a free allowance or usage-based service may be enough. A recurring bundle can make sense when you consistently use the included research. Compare the complete task, required plan and unused capacity.

Does MCP access make one tool the obvious choice?

No. Several options offer agent access. Compare available operations, approval controls, costs and output rather than treating MCP as a unique feature. Our agent connection guide explains OwnerClue's workflow.

Can I send directly from the export?

An exported address still needs the checks required by your sending workflow. OwnerClue's public-email discovery does not verify mailbox deliverability. Its Instantly CSV guide explains field mapping and keeping evidence separately.

Test the workflow before committing

Start with Outscraper for usage-based exports, Apify for configurable workflows, Scrap.io for its geographic search options, LocalProspects.ai for bundled local research, or OwnerClue for reviewing public contact evidence.

If your immediate task is finding local businesses and checking how to reach them, start a search with your own industry and location. If you still need to choose tools for the rest of the process, read what to buy first for B2B lead generation.
