Local prospecting for web design agencies

Build a city-and-industry shortlist, inspect website observations and supported decision-maker records, then export a list for your own review and outreach.

OwnerClue · Updated

Start with roofing contractors in Texas

Choose roofing contractor and Austin, or preview Austin plus nearby Texas cities in a multi-city campaign. Set a total lead cap. Search results can include adjacent categories and separate branches, so check relevance before keeping a row. This example describes the workflow, not a completed campaign or a measured conversion case.

Which website signals can you use?

Observation What it tells you What you still check
no_website No website listed in the returned Maps record Search the business name and verify a site is really absent
website_unreachable The crawler could not read the listed site Retry in a browser; a temporary block is possible
booking_not_found No booking link found on inspected public pages Look for JavaScript widgets and external booking channels
reviews_below_20 Fewer than 20 reported reviews at search time Inspect recent reviews and the local context

These observations help prioritize research. They do not prove a business needs a redesign or is ready to buy. Rating and review-count ranges can be filtered in your exported spreadsheet; the current workspace has the fixed low-review signal rather than arbitrary numeric ranges.

Check the site manually before pitching

Open it on mobile, try the quote/contact form, inspect service pages and calls to action, and record the page and date of each observation. Use an independent performance test if speed matters. OwnerClue does not currently perform a complete Lighthouse, mobile, form or SEO audit.

For roofing relevance, a contractor directory can supplement discovery. Check RCAT's directory and NRCA separately rather than treating directory membership as a Maps or OwnerClue field.

Check the decision-maker and export

Read the role and supporting source in owner discovery. A founder is not automatically the current owner, and a general email is not automatically a person's email. Exclude mismatched websites, duplicate branches you do not want, and companies outside your offer.

Keep full CSV for evidence, then use GoHighLevel or Instantly CSV if those are your downstream tools. OwnerClue does not send outreach.
