How to research review-management prospects

Use ratings and total review counts as an initial shortlist, then check review recency and responses manually. Static listing fields are not review-management intelligence.

Use the current fields for initial research

Search an industry and city, inspect rating and total reviews, and optionally use reviews_below_20. Apply other numeric cutoffs in exported CSV. Neither a low total nor a low rating proves the business needs your service; volume varies with business age, market and customer behavior.

Inspect recent reviews and responses manually

  1. Open the live business profile and record the review period you inspect.
  2. Look at recent positive and negative reviews and whether replies address the customer.
  3. Record sampled reviews and response observations with the date.
  4. Compare similar nearby businesses using the same sample period.
  5. Check existing review-management arrangements before judging an opportunity.

Google explains review management and replies. BrightLocal's 2026 consumer survey discusses the importance of business responses. That research provides context, not a diagnosis for any particular prospect.

What OwnerClue does not calculate today

The product does not currently return response rates, unanswered negative reviews, 30/90-day counts, review growth or competitor review medians. Do not derive those metrics from a total review count. A future calculation would need dated review/reply samples, a disclosed sampling window and validated data access; this guide makes no such capability claim.

Build a small manually reviewed list, then check supported people and contacts. Keep observations and sources with the full CSV. There is no measured sales-conversion case on this page.
